Expert Teachers that love teaching students

Excellence in teaching in the hands of highly qualified teachers. Our teachers  hold advanced degrees in their fields, including Master's and Doctorate degrees in music from top-notch institutions. They have been carefully selected   for their deep knowledge and professional experience. But above all, they love what they do and are truly gifted at working with their students.

Lessons for all ages and skill levels

We teach beginners, advanced, children and adults alike. Our youngest students  are barely three years old and the oldest are retirees in their golden years. Anyone with an interest in learning to play an instrument will find a home and a highly-skilled, caring teacher at Suzuki Institute.

Studio spaces designed for music

We provide well-appointed, comfortable studio spaces customized for each   instrument. Teachers and students are able to focus on experiencing music in an inviting environment that promotes learning.

A thirty-year record of excellence

We are one of the oldest and most reputable schools of music in Sarasota. Established in 1989, we are celebrating three decades of excellence in music education. Generations of students have studied with us and many have gone on to professional careers in music.

Concerts, Recitals, performance opportunities

All through the year, our students take the opportunity to share their skills and talents with audiences. We offer multiple concerts and performance opportunities in many different settings. Just in the past few years, our students have performed in auditoriums, an art gallery, the Sarasota Opera, the UTC Mall, the Sarasota Polo Grounds and at St. Armand's Circle at the annual lighting of the tree at Christmas.

A caring community of music-loving families

Our Suzuki Institute school community is strong and truly believes in the value of music as enrichment of life. We form bonds with fellow music learners, experience the camaraderie of music and create friendships through sharing our musical passions with each other.

A wide range of instruments all under one roof

From violins to guitar, piano, cello, saxophone and voice, our families are able to experience a wide range of instruments and teachers  without having to go very far. Many of our students learn multiple   instruments and grow their skills in different ways. Parents and children often learn and play together, creating precious memories.

Flexible times to suit your schedule

We have studio hours six days a week. Between mornings and early     afternoons that suit homeschoolers and adults, to afternoon, evenings and weekends for those who need more flexibility, we can find a time for every family and work with your busy schedule to find you an excellent teacher.

Lounge areas for parents and families

Several comfortable lounge areas allow parents to relax, while the younger ones have tables, chairs and art supplies to keep them busy and engaged. Free WiFi access is available throughout our studios to help your productivity.

Convenient, central location in Sarasota

Located at Southgate Circle in Sarasota, our studios are right near the hub of   life in the city, close to downtown. However, our students come from everywhere around Sarasota, from Lakewood Ranch and Parrish on the north and as far away as North Port and Punta Gorda to the south.

We love the teachers and the direction of the school. It has great programs and events. It is well organized and most of all, they treat children with love and respect.

It is a privilege and honor to be part of a great school with people as kind as you and your teachers.

(Our son) has been a student at Suzuki since he was 2 years old, taking (early childhood music) classes and then moving on to piano. He has had exceptional teachers and has an appreciation for piano and music in general that will last him a lifetime.

My daughter has been taking violin lessons for a couple of years and has shown dramatic growth in her violin skills. The teacher shows lots of patience and I am always impressed with the quality of instruction she gives. I’m so happy I found this place!

My son has been attending Suzuki since he was three years old under the expert instruction of Dr. Joyce Mizer, founder of the Suzuki Institute. Dr. Mizer is a phenomenal teacher, a multi instrumentalist trained in the Suzuki method. Her ability to impart her innate musicality as well as her effusive kindness and razor sharp wit makes her an especially effective mentor to young children. My now seven year old son has flourished under her attentive and dedicated instruction in both violin and piano. I highly recommend the Suzuki Institute for the amazing community of musicians that comprise its faculty and its accessibility for families and individuals alike.
